Our Story

It started in middle school, when Cindy was finishing her teachers sentences while learning Algebra for the first time. Through high school, after school she enjoyed finding empty classrooms and pretending to teach. She knew she was on the right path with math when the activity she found most soothing to life's stressors was doing Algebra. 🙂  And, helping classmates while working towards her math degree confirmed teaching was her passion and calling.

Since earning her math degree, Cindy has taught math in the classroom in middle school, high school, and community college. She also loved professional tutoring, including homeschool, 1-1 and small groups. 

Oftentimes students and parents would request her help when her schedule was full, or they would request help in areas that were not her specialty.  It became increasingly uncomfortable to turn students away.

So, in Boulder, CO in 2003, she created Top of the Line Tutors™ tutoring service to offer customized, 1-1 academic tutoring and homework coaching for all subjects and all ages. Through her tutoring service, she has collaborated with students of all ages, parents, tutors, teachers, and school administrators. 

Academically, Cindy's expertise is in Algebra.  For over 38 years the ongoing success of her students has shown her what strategies work best for learners of all ages, from middle schoolers to adults.  With these insights, Cindy developed the Sacred Algebra™ course, to help even more students succeed in this powerful and transformative subject. Algebra with an A is a division of Top of the line Tutors with a focus on this life changing subject.
